Antique Italian painting from the 17th century, Holy Family

Great Italian painting from the second half of the 17th century. Oil on canvas artwork depicting a splendid Holy Family of remarkable pictorial quality. In the centre we find the Madonna with a very sweet baby Jesus in her arms who looks towards us. On the left we recognise Saint Joseph with the flowering staff. In fact, when the time comes for Mary to marry, twelve suitors appear. Each of them had a staff and a miraculous sign was asked to decide who would marry the young woman. Beautiful scented flowers immediately appeared on Joseph's staff. Frame in carved, lacquered and gilded wood, with some signs of aging. It has a plaque that refers to the painter from Lucca Pietro Ricchi (1606-1675), lacking authentication. Painting already restored with relining, replacement of the frame and repainting in some places. Overall in good condition. Sight size H 95 x W 121 cm.
