Antique painting from the second half of the 17th century. Oil on canvas artwork depicting an allegorical subject from the Rudolphine school, a particular game of cherubs of good pictorial quality. The Rudolphine school, also known as the Prague school, refers to that group of artists working at the court of Rudolf II of Habsburg. Painting that develops horizontally, with a dark background, characterized by the strong contrast of light with the characters in the foreground. Painting depicting cherubs with various objects with specific allegorical meanings. We find fireworks which could refer to an event to be celebrated or to the power of the client, the pear symbol of wealth and an Ouroboros, representation of infinity and eternal return. Artwork that has undergone conservative restoration, relining, replacement of the frame and restoration of color in various places (see photo).
