Great 17th century Italian painting, Holy Family

Antique Italian painting from the 17th century. Oil on canvas artwork depicting a wonderful Holy Family. Painting of remarkable pictorial quality, particularly evident in the masterful use of the chiaroscuro technique to give volume and three-dimensionality to the figures. In the center we see a splendid Madonna holding a very sweet baby Jesus in her arms. At the bottom right we recognize Saint John the Baptist also thanks to one of his iconographic symbols, a stick surmounted by a small cross with the writing Ecce Agnus Dei. In the background on the left we glimpse Saint Joseph in the shadows. Scenic 20th century frame in carved and gilded wood, with some signs of aging. Painting of considerable size, ideal for a large reception room. Painting already restored with re-lining, replacement of the frame and re-coloring in small spots. Overall painting in excellent state of conservation. Sight size H 93 x W 130.5 cm.
