Great 17th century Italian painting. Oil on canvas artwork depicting Saint Francis in ecstasy supported by two angels after receiving the stigmata. Painting of exceptional pictorial quality attributable to the Lombard school in the circle of Pier Francesco Mazzucchelli known as Morazzone (1573-1626) and his pupil Francesco Cairo (1607-1665), lacking authentication. Painting of considerable size, ideal for a large hall or private chapel. 20th century frame in carved and gilded wood, with some signs of aging. Painting already restored with relining, replacement of the frame and recoloring in some places. Overall in good preserved condition. Sight size H 194 x W 123 cm.
